To help us with our position and direction learning in Maths, today we used the BeeBots to turn left and right and move forwards and backwards @StradbrokePri
Today we took a trip to Richmond Park to spot Physical and Human features for our Geography learning @StradbrokePri
Today we put our time learning to the test and played a game with our partner which involved us making times to 5 minutes and our partner peer assessing @StradbrokePri
Welcome to Year 2!
The class teachers in Year 2 are Mr Mills and Miss France. We are supported by Miss Pass and Ms Reade. Our P.E day isThursday, please make sure your child brings their PE kit to school and that everything is labelled with your child’s name.
Home learning menus are given out at the start of every term highlighting activities and projects that children can complete at home based on their current learning in school. Children will receive Dojo points or Golden Tickets for each project completed.
Please ensure your child brings both their reading and library book back every Thursday so they can be changed.
PPA:
The class teacher’s PPA is on a Monday afternoon. During this time, children will be taughtby Miss Minahan or Mrs Walker for wider curriculum subjects.

Autumn Term
In the autumn term, as historians, we will learn about two significant historical events: The Great Fire of London and The Titanic disaster. As Scientists, we will investigate the properties of different materials and their suitability for different purposes. As artists, we will be taking inspiration from Van Gogh and creating our own silhouette paintings. In Computing, we developed our programming and coding skills through the Scratch Jr app. In PE, we will be exploring and developing our Gymnastic skills both on the floor and using apparatus. Every week, we will have Reading for Pleasure time where we will develop not only our reading competence and fluency but our enjoyment for reading.
