Spring Term

This term, Year 2 have lots of exciting learning taking place. Our Geography learning will be centred on finding out more about the continent Australia which will help support us with our literacy learning where we will be writing narratives linked to the animation ‘Back to the Outback.’ Science learning will cover animals including humans, considering what basic needs for survival are, as well as learning more about how to look after ourselves. This will then lead onto discovering how offspring grow into adults.

In Art and computing we will be focusing on digital photography inspired by Andy Warhol. In PE, we will focus on lawn games to develop our precision and accuracy when throwing. In addition to this, we are very much looking forward to an Arts Week at the end of the first half term, where children will be collaborating to make a music video. We will also be re-establishing our connections within the local community with a visit to Richmond Park to assist ‘Friends of Richmond Park’ charity with their community tree planting project. Finally, to finish off the term, we are very excited to be planning a residential trip to Whirlow Hall Farm.
