PE & School Sport
Here at Stradbroke Primary School, we aim to offer a rich, broad and stimulating Physical Education curriculum that accommodates the needs of all children. Our curriculum aims to promote the physical literacy of all children through experiencing a wide range of physical activities and sports.
Through the support of our specialist Sports Leaders Mr Matthews and Miss France, our dynamic teaching staff and other wider organisations and partners that we work alongside, the children take part in 2 hours of high quality Physical Education and School Sport each week. We aim for pupils to become physically confident, develop core values and strive to fulfil their potential, whilst supporting their health and well-being to lead fit and healthy lifestyles.
Alongside our two hour timetabled Physical Education, Stradbroke also provides KS2 children with core swimming lessons including water safety. Furthermore, we pride ourselves in providing opportunities for all children at Stradbroke to compete in fixtures, tournaments, festivals and extra curricula activity clubs in a wide variety of sports.

Sports Premium Funding at Stradbroke
Into its eleventh year, the Primary PE and Sport Premium supports schools to ensure equal access, support all pupils to be active for 60 minutes a day, and ensure the delivery of two hours of quality PE for all pupils.

School Games Kitemark – Platinum Award 2025/26 & 2026/27
As a PE department here at Stradbroke Primary School, we strive to provide the children with a breadth of sporting opportunities every academic year. Our recent endeavours have not gone unnoticed because we have recently been awarded with the Platinum kitemark award. This is the highest accolade a primary school can achieve and we are incredibly proud of this award. What is more, we get to maintain a “platinum” standard for the following academic year as an added bonus.
The School Games Organisation has recognised our commitment in raising the profile of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport at Stradbroke. Additionally, our children are actively encouraged to follow the Spirit of the Games Values: determination, honesty,
passion, respect, self-belief and teamwork. This further reinforced why were successful in achieving the platinum kitemark
I would now like to take this opportunity in thanking all the children who have participated in lunchtime clubs, after school clubs and sporting competitions throughout this academic year. Without your dedication and passion for sport, we would not be able to celebrate this award. Keep it up!

You could be featured in this newsletter showcasing your sporting talent! Write a short note explaining your recent sporting achievement and if you have won any sporting medals or trophies bring them in to Miss France, who may feature you in the next newsletter! Also, if you have any pictures of you in action we would love to see them!
