Physical EducationPE & School Sport
Here at Stradbroke Primary School, we aim to offer a rich, broad and stimulating Physical Education curriculum that accommodates the needs of all children. Our curriculum aims to promote the physical literacy of all children through experiencing a wide range of physical activities and sports.
Through the support of our specialist Sports Leader, Mr McCarroll, our dynamic teaching staff and other wider organisations and partners that we work alongside, the children take part in 2 hours of high quality Physical Education and School Sport each week. We aim for pupils to become physically confident, develop core values and strive to fulfil their potential, whilst supporting their health and well-being to lead fit and healthy lifestyles.
Alongside our two hour timetabled Physical Education, Stradbroke also provides KS2 children with core swimming lessons including water safety. Furthermore, we pride ourselves in providing opportunities for all children at Stradbroke to compete in fixtures, tournaments, festivals and extra curricula activity clubs in a wide variety of sports.

Sports Premium Funding at Stradbroke
The Sports Premium Funding is an initiative facilitated by the current Government to enhance the provision of Physical Education and School Sport in primary schools across the UK. The funding has been available to primary schools since 2013/2014 and will be until 2020. Each year, primary schools receive a lump sum depending on the number of pupils on roll and then a further £10.00 per pupil on roll.

Gold School Games Award 2021/2022!
This year, as a school, we are proud to announce that we have received the Gold Kitemark for the Sainsbury’s School Games Awards. This means that we have achieved the Gold award for 3 years running!
In order to achieve this award, it has involved Stradbroke organising, hosting and attending a wide range of sporting competitions throughout the year. Furthermore, Stradbroke has ensured that children have had opportunities to experience positive physical activity and sporting events to motivate them, increase their competence and confidence. Moreover, Stradbroke actively seek out children demonstrating the School Games values and recognise their efforts with achievements.
Well done children for all your efforts and a massive thank you to all who have helped us achieve this prestigious award, yet again!

Our PE and School Sport Newsletters aim to highlight and celebrate our sporting achievements not only in school but outside of school too.
You could be featured in this newsletter showcasing your sporting talent! Write a short note explaining your recent sporting achievement and if you have won any sporting medals or trophies bring them in to Miss France, who may feature you in the next newsletter! Also, if you have any pictures of you in action we would love to see them!
