Welcome to our School Attendance Page. On this page you will find useful information about your child’s class attendance and the initiatives we have set up in order to improve attendance across school.
As a school, we recognise that there is a direct correlation between attendance and academic achievement. Therefore, attendance is treated as a top priority for the school and features on the School Development Plan – targets are regularly re-visited and evaluated throughout the year by the Attendance Champion and Inclusion Manager.
Our attendance data is regularly shared and communicated with all stakeholders (Governors on a termly basis, SLT on a half-termly basis and parents/teachers on regular newsletters) and attendance awards (Amazon vouchers for 100% attendance) also feature prominently within weekly assemblies celebrating 100% attendance. Attendance is also displayed in class and around school in order to raise the profile and importance of attending school.
In addition to this, we run a Daily Walking Bus and Breakfast Club in order to support attendance.
More information about our Attendance Procedures (to support and challenge attendance in-line with Local Authority Guidance) can be found within our Attendance Policy – this also outlines our intervention process through voluntary, formalised and enforcement stages.
Our approach recognises the need to have robust procedures in place but also the need to support families in order to achieve improvement.
